Psalm 51

Have you read Psalm 51, or read it again lately? Well, searching for encouragement for a wonderful counselee sent me to this beautiful Psalm. David knew too well what it felt like to know a choice was a disappointment to God. How do we feel when we make a choice and suffer the separation anxiety we feel in our heart, separation from God’s will for us? For me personally, I need a strong confiction, thank you Holy Spirit for your work in me. Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit will come and be our conselor, dwelling within us. So what brings you to your knees, what can possible make you believe the lie that once we accept Christ’s gift of salvation, that anything can separate us from the Father’s love? Nothing can, but we allow this lie to fester in our hearts. What should we do instead? Remember we were washed white as snow, as verse 7 in Psalm 51 tells us; when we became born again. Are you born again? Let’s talk if you want to know for sure that you will reside in Heaven for eternity. God’s grace and mercy be with you this day, may his gift of peace be in your heart forevermore.

Shelter from the storm

Well, I worked out this morning and had a beautiful conversation with a woman about faith and our daily walk with the Lord. We ended up talking a little about my journey and I shared my heart for the women who come out of the detention center(s). We need a community effort to help those women transition into a healthy life. I am considering the idea of approaching a national women’s organization with an idea…..God is working today as everyday…..are we listening for His direction and call? What are you thinking about today, have you had your time with Him to know His agenda or are you in charge? Moody said “God never turns anyone away empty, unless they are full of themselves!”

Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret” Lord, teach me to be more concerned about what I am than what I do, more inclined to pray than to push, and as eager to worship as I am to work.

Plan B in effect

Well, we were supposed to travel to Naples, FL for a 4 day trip today. Plan B is in effect! Do you ever consider that our Plan B is actually God’s Plan A for us? We are watching The Lord Of The Rings movies as a family, discussing how Tolkien uses this storyline to share the Gospel. Seems the paralyzing weather can also make you rethink your plans and priorities. Are we abiding in Christ for our strength and confidence to deal with this life? Take a snow day and think about what really matters when you are on Plan B. Psalm 51:10-12 – God work on my heart in this forced quiet time…when I can not busy myself with the things of this world.

Snow and other surprises

Isn’t it funny how a blizzard makes you realize how unprepared most of us are for the unexpected challenges. We have changed so much since the days of our parents when they grew their own food and animals, made many other items they needed that we now purchase from stores.
