Hi there. My name is Pastor Bea Gruber. I am a licensed Pastoral Counselor. This blog site is about offering some Godly wisdom for life’s everyday challenges. The ol’ Dear Abby column is great and I thought offering an accessible site to ask a question and get a Christian perpective would be worthy and hopefully very well recieved. Your everyday life is something that God is very interested in; for He cares for us – 1 Peter 5:7 says Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
So what’s your question?

My best counseling session began and ended asking and thanking our Lord for guidance, is this something you try to do?

Thank you very much for your comment and speaking up Mike.
Yes, I believe in prayer…before, during, and in conclusion of each session. Every session I plan begins with prayer for guidance, wisdom and discernment. Isn’t our God full of mercy and grace? His desire is for us to become spiritual mature. Every situation (especially the painful ones) in this life offer us a chance to grow closer to God. As a counselor, if I don’t have enlightenment from the Lord, I am useless. Each time I meet with a counselee I am asking “how can we get from here to Jesus” Amen.
